The Best Pop Albums of All Time. New Brockhampton Album "Ginger" To Release In August.

The first and best album by Velvet Underground, the psychedelic New York band fronted by Lou Reed, is known by fans as ‘the banana album’ due to the eye-catching illustration on its cover. This fruity drawing was the work of Pop Art icon Andy Warhol, who happened to be the group’s manager, while the cover was designed by Acy R. Lehman. One of the best-selling albums of the 2000s and the winner of two Grammys, Fallen was the debut of Evanescence, a genre-defying Christian band that combined elements of nu metal, alternative metal and goth. But its influence went way beyond 'just' music. Countless youngsters since its release have testified to the way its lyrics, which deal with subjects of alienation, depression, suicide and death, have helped them deal with the angst of 'feeling different' from their peers.

The 50 Best Album-Opening Songs in Rap History. Conventional pop music wisdom dictates that Track 4 is the traditional cornerstone of any pop music album, the compartment in which artists stash their best stuff for listeners to find after working through the appetizers at the beginning of an album. In rap, however, it’s always been about Track 1. Why? Because hip-hop is not polite and because it has no patience. A rapper won’t wait to engage you with subtlety: He’ll tell you what you need to know right now, up front, without delay

Like the album itself, the art for 2004’s American Idiot is hardly subtle. A heart-shaped hand grenade, bleeding and designed to mimic Communist propaganda, was an integral part of Green Day’s angsty tribute to the nation’s post-9/11 political turmoil. 003. 051. 49. Taylor Swift, '1989' (2014). Taylor Swift’s fifth studio album 1989 was a departure for the singer, so it only makes sense that the cover broke with tradition as well. Shaped as a Polaroid photo from the era, Swift’s face is cut off, highlighting an '80s sweatshirt while evoking memories of a different time. A big part of that was due to the perfect cover art, depicting all the singers as dangerous, wanted outlaws from the Old West.

The album was released during a time of destruction around America, and Public Enemy made it their job to produce a cohesive album calling out current issues while also dropping knowledge on the history that has influenced these issues. With powerful lyrics over beats full of bass, the album boldly expressed the group's stance on corruption, and it's still used as a form of protest music because of its progressive and informative composition

It's All Right" was easily the best song here, accented by the group's sublime harmonies, arranger Johnny Pate's swinging horn section, and Mayfield's precise guitar work. The group also showed an unsurprising reverence for classic doo wop, beautifully remaking "Never Let Me Go," a Top Ten R&B hit for Johnny Ace in 1954. Even the closer, a tossed-off novelty called "Twist and Limbo," is an excellent performance and a genuinely fun song
