The Simon Sisters Sing the Lobster Quadrille and Other Songs for Children. Redirected from Lucy & Carly - The Simon Sisters Sing For Children (album)). The Simon Sisters Sing The Lobster Quadrille and Other Songs for Children is The Simon Sisters' 1969 album, featuring musical settings of classic children's poetry.

It was essentially a re-release of The Simon Sisters Sing The Lobster Quadrille And Other Songs For Children and contained the same songs and track listing, but with additional recording and mixing. More percussion and guitars were added to give the songs a fuller 1970s sound. Vocals: Lucy Simon, Carly Simon. Music composed by: Lucy Simon. Arranged and conducted by: Sam Brown. Original recording (1969) engineering: Fred Plaut, Roy Segal.

The sisters' close, conscientious harmonies were in a style that was already starting to date by the time this was released, but within the clean-cut '60s folk boom genre, the pair was definitely above average.

The Simon Sisters were composed of Carly Simon (who went on to highly successful solo career in the '70s) and her older sister Lucy. Lucy wrote the setting for the song when she was 14 - it was the first song she ever wrote. The sisters developed their chops in the early '60s by hitchhiking to Provincetown, Massachusetts, to sing at a place called The Moors, where they opened for some big-time comedians, including Bill Cosby and Woody Allen. Lucy eventually gave up the gig to raise.
